Why should I become a member of Horsham & District Racing Club?
Membership is a great way to support your local club and community, and enjoy some fantastic race day benefits. Benefits include:
- Admission to all race days at Horsham
- Full access to the Members area with Members Only discounted prices across the course
- Exclusive invitations to Club Functions throughout the year
Does my membership application need to be ratified by the board to join as a new member?
Yes, new members will have their application approved by the board at the next committee meeting. If your application is declined for any reason, you will receive a full refund.
How can I pay for a membership?
Memberships can be purchased online with secure payment with a Visa or Mastercard. Please contact us for alternative payment methods.
Are there members’ only facilities that I have access to on race day?
All members have access to the members area, situated in prime position next to the mounting yard. They also have access to the Members Bar where drinks are available at discounted ‘members only’ prices on race day.
Can I bring children into the Members’ facilities?
Children under the age of 18 are permitted into all Members’ areas if accompanied by an adult member. Members are reminded that they are responsible for the behaviour and dress standard of their guests and children at all times.
Is there a dress code in the Members’ facilities?
We kindly ask members to dress to a standard suitable for Race Day. Club Management retains the right, at its sole discretion to refuse any member or guest access to enter or use the members’ areas that are not attired in line with this policy or do not have the appropriate ticket or pass.
Male: Gentlemen are required to wear the following unless advised otherwise: a collared shirt or collared polo top, pants, dress shorts and shoes or sandals
Female: Ladies are required to maintain a suitable standard of dress in keeping with the dignity of the members’ facilities.
Not Permitted: The following items of clothing or those similar in nature are not permitted to be worn within the Members’ facilities. Tracksuits, torn clothing, clothing with graffiti, singlets, football jerseys, leggings, swimsuits, beanies, board shorts, thongs, runners, moccasins, and dilapidated footwear.
Who can use a Guest Pass?
Guest passes can be used by any non-member you would like to bring on race day, it does not need to be the same guest each time.
Who qualifies for a concession/senior membership?
Concession pricing is available for pension card holders only.
When will I receive my membership?
Memberships are normally sent within 30 days after purchase. If you would like to collect your membership on race day, please get in touch with us to arrange this.
What happens if my card is lost or stolen?
Membership cards can be replaced by contacting the club (service fee may apply). The old card will be cancelled and a new one will be issued.
Is there a Members’ car park?
No, we have ample on-site public parking to accommodate attendees.
How long does a membership last?
We offer a 12 month or two year option. The membership season follows the racing season, which is 1 August – 31 July. We recommend renewing early in the season to maximise value from your membership.
If I can’t attend a race day, can a friend or family member use my card?
Yes, another person can use your membership pass if you cannot attend. Membership cards are scanned upon entry to the racecourse and can only be scanned in once.
Are there any reciprocal rights with other race clubs?
All members have reciprocal rights to attend Harness Race Day’s in Horsham
